COWORKERS OF CHRIST

COWORKERS OF CHRIST

What does it mean to be a coworker of Christ? Given that Jesus is our Lord and Master, it means surrendering our lives to His will and following wherever it may lead us. How do we live this out? That is the difficult question to which we all wish we had the perfect answer. Truth is, there is no single answer. There are as many answers as there are people in the world, as it all comes down to our personal relationship with Jesus.

Jesus desires to be in a relationship with everyone in a personal, lasting, and meaningful way. As Lord of our lives and as our Creator, He seeks to guide us according to His will and purpose because He knows what is best for us. He wants to do everything He can (apart from disrespecting the gift of our freewill) to help us find the path to our fulfillment. True fulfillment will come when we fully obey His will. Insisting on our own will and desires may still result in good and blessed lives, but it will not be the fullest blessing we can achieve as when we are totally dependent on God’s will.

It can take a fair bit of courage to accept and initiate total surrender to God’s will. We may need to reflect upon this truth for a while before we can accept it fully. I encourage you to do this because without deep surrender to God’s will, we will always feel as if we are lacking something. While we may be doing well and living good and holy lives, there is still more that we want and know we can get—if we only surrender more deeply to the Lord. Fr. Steve Tynan, MGL

---------- REFLECTION QUESTION ----------

Do you truly believe that God’s will is the best possible path for your life?

Jesus, help me to grow in trust of You, Your love, and Your will in my life so that I may truly find fulfillment in all that I do. Amen.

Today, I pray for: _______________________________
