BECOMING A KINGDOM WORKER

BECOMING A KINGDOM WORKER

Working in the Kingdom of God is not necessarily difficult. It can be as simple as living the Christian life faithfully in the midst of all the things that we do every day. It can be as complicated as seeking to develop the various skills and gifts God has given us so that we can participate more fully in the various aspects of the proclamation of the Gospel.

Deciding what God wants us to do is simply listening to His call upon our life. Once we have discerned what He wants us to do, we have to trust that whatever grace we need to achieve it will be given to us also. Sometimes God plays into our strengths and so it is a relatively simple matter to develop our gifts and talents. At other times, He calls us to do things that are literally unthinkable. That is, there is no indication in our natural gifts and talents that it is what He is calling us to do. In that case, we need to have a greater trust in the grace of God to develop the skills needed for our service of the Gospel.

Whatever the case, and to whatever degree we need to trust in the grace of God, the fundamentals are still the same—trust that He will provide what we need. If we can do that, we will have a fascinating journey with the Lord—a journey where anything is possible and miracles become a common part of our experience. Fr. Steve Tynan, MGL

---------- REFLECTION QUESTIONS ----------

Are you ready to entrust your life into the hands and the will of God? Do you love God enough to trust Him with your life?

Holy Spirit, help me to overcome any doubts I have in the goodness of God. Help me to surrender my all to Him. Amen.
